I am a little late in posting this, but I have come across this site after finding out I am pregnant for the first time. I have read many stories on here over the past months and felt the need to share my story, or symptoms mostly, to maybe help some of you out. To keep my "story" short, I was NOT TTC. I am in no way disappointed, but I was on the pill. My LMP was April 21, 2012. On May 17, I went into my OBGYN office to have a cervical biopsy done because three weeks earlier, some pre-cancerous cells had been found during my yearly pap smear. This was also the day my period was expected to start based on my birth control pill pack. (I was always very regular and had little, if any, PMS symptoms while on the pill.) About a week or so leading up to this biopsy, I had started having severe back pain, not lower, more mid and upper back. It was hard to get around, and the pain usually occurred at night. A day or two leading up to the biopsy, I had PMS-like cramps. Something I rarely experienced since getting on the pill. I believe I also had a few headaches and some moodiness. My appointment was at 8 AM and the first thing they had me do was take a urine test. When my doctor came into the room, I explained to her how I had been feeling and she assured me I was not pregnant based on my urine test. (This was the day of my expected period remember). Also note, this was not my first morning urine, but my second. Anyways, I went ahead with the procedure. That afternoon I began to bleed. (This was due to the biopsy). I think I also bled most of the following day, which would have been on a Friday. As I recall, the bleeding had stopped by Saturday and I didn't really think much of it until Sunday when I was getting off of work. I had to go to the pharmacy to pick up my next pack of birth control (Oh, the irony!). And decided to buy a 5 pack of clear blue digital tests since they were on sale. I went home and my boyfriend and I were planning on going to his parent's lake house so while I was in the bathroom changing, I peed on 2 tests. They both came back positive VERY quickly. I have never been so in shock in my life. It took me hours to be able to tell him, and if I had to do over again, I would have had him in there with me to see the results. (He had no idea I even thought I was pregnant). Anyways, I guess the point of my story is not to give up if you're trying and maybe wait a day or two after you are supposed to begin your period. And I think everyone's early symptoms are different. My boobs didn't begin to hurt until a few days later and my gums also began to bleed, but the back pain finally went away. My entire first trimester I was a total b*tch, my hormones were all over the place, I was fairly sick, but my docs gave me Zofran and that is a magic drug! I have rambled on long enough, I hope this helped bring piece of mind to someone!
